House You turns 3! We started in the Northern Rivers after a sharehouse was evicted with no grounds and left homeless within a week. Instead of getting down, we got organised, rallying our community at Byron Bay Main Beach to fix the housing crisis.
Since then we’ve run community conversations and workshops, backed tenants fighting evictions, given evidence and housing solutions at Parliamentary Inquiries, and made viral content that shifts the narrative from “investment good” to “house hoarding bad”. What began as a local response is now a national movement for housing as a human right, and our campaign is simple: Everybody Gets a House.
Come celebrate with us to mark what we have achieved so far and back the future of our work!
When: Friday 4 December, 6pm to 10:30pm
